Hi guys. I got power back, and the shop is fine, but I still have no internet, house phone, or cable. I am trying to fill small orders by the weekend. Thanks. I have e-mail at the day location, so PM me here or e-mail if you need me. ![]() Craig Lavin |

Welcome nack Craig, glad you made it. My sister lives in Ocheechobee and made out ok too except for the loss of power, phone, nerves, etc. |

I have a client that wants a baritone guitar. He wants the inlay work as well, but is having trouble finding a builder without a 2-3 year waiting list for a baritone in the $2000.00 range. I can give you specifics, but is he off the mark price wise? That price wouldn't include inlay, just the basic guitar. I need to see what body shape/woods. If anybody here is interested e-mail me. I will get you guys in contact over the specifics. I completed a simple inlay just last night, so things are moving again. Tim your up next! ![]() Thanks! |

Glad to hear it Craig. you've been through the mill. ....how are on the forum without internet, though? I've had times when the internet service is out and it really vuts me off from what is an enjoyable communication time each day. Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars |

Nice to have you back, Craig. When Rita tore through our back yard, I had to crank up the generator to keep up with the guys here. It was worth it. Any cool shells come ashore? Steve |

Kevin I am using the internet at my school. I have access about an hour a day, but at home I am still out. Stan I am catching up fast, mostly due to a lot of my projects being from private builders with relatively lenient time frames. I have a lot of commissions, but between hobbyists and luthiers with far off waiting lists I DO have time. If anyone needs work I am ready most likely starting Monday. ![]() I actually may start doing vines as well. The more I think about how I am limiting myself to that part of inlay the more I realise I am losing a part of the market! BUT- I will try to make them as original an "natural" looking as possible. Maybe more like flower/leaves effects more than twirls, etc.. If you want to be the first to get a new design just say so! I'll need to pay the higher insurance rates somehow! ![]() ![]() C.Lavin |

Craig, glad to hear you made it through the storm. I'll be back in touch with you when you get your home connection up again. As far as vines, how about a plant....say something along the line of cotton and cotton bowls with an occasional weevil or bollworm thrown in to the mix? ![]() |

Hi Craig, I'm happy to hear you are OK!! What an ordeal to go thru. Is there anything you need or I can do for you?? If so, just ask. We care about our Brother Inlaid artist. Hang in there... Regards, Walter |

A special thanks to all my luthier bothers! (and whatever sisters are lurking) You guys are great! I luckily have all I need, and relatively little damage. I learned though that a gas grill with a burner is a critical need (relatively) I never had one, but now when my wife comes home she is happy to be at "one of those nice smelling houses" ![]() I plan on cutting all weekend, so orders pending should go out Monday or Tuesday the latest. Craig. Yes a seaweed/kelp guitar will be in the works one day! |
